Star of the Week:
This afternoon, I modeled what a Star Student presentation would look like and explained some of the fun things your child will be able to do during his/her Star Student week. When your child is an upcoming Star Student, you will find a letter and poster in your child's Friday Folder! Look below for more information:

Read-a-Thon:
Our theme for this year's Read-A-Thon is Books turn Muggles into Wizards! Harry Potter!
The Read-A-Thon is the PTA fall fundraiser. There will be a pledge envelope in your first grader's Friday folder today and online pledges can also be collected using MemberHub.

Why do we Fundraise?

The Read-A-Thon helps support dozens of programs and purchases that directly impact your children:

  • Every teacher receives a classroom grant of $300 each school year

  • Books and online resources for the Media Center are purchased

  • After school activities such as Fusion Lab, Choir, and Fitness Club are funded

  • Playground equipment, musical instruments, a rock wall, a mobile electronic white board and all field trip transportation is covered

Library Books:
We have library time every Tuesday morning. Please help remind your child to return their books on Tuesday (or any day prior!) so they are ready to check-out books.

Snacks:
Thank you to all that have donated extra snacks for our class! Please remember to send your child with a snack each day. We do have extras for those rushed mornings, but remind your child that the extras are not for "I don't like the snack I brought" days. If you pack a snack in your child's lunchbox, please make sure they are aware it is there. Thank you!
