Hello families!
We had another great week in first grade! We wrapped up the week with a special visit from Mrs, Huettl and a field trip to Dodge Nature Center!
Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions:
Math:
- Can you skip count for me? (2s, 5s, 10s)
- Can you count these dots SUPER FAST? (Skill: Subitizing)
Reading:
- Can you read the following sight words?
- has
- do
- this
- look
- with
- What name-learning song did you sing for Shared Reading? (Hint: there's an elephant involved)
- Can you tell me about the new books in your book bin?
Writing:
- How do you help at home? How do you help at school? What did you write about helping in your journal this week?
Social Studies:
- What is a bucket filler? How can you fill buckets?
Important Papers:
If you still have your emergency information forms or field trip permission slip from meet and greet, please sign them and return so we can have them on file.
Picture Day:
Picture day is Tuesday, Sept. 27. We will go as a class during our assigned time- likely in the morning.
Conference Sign-Up:
Conferences are already just around the corner! A link to sign up for a slot will be sent out on Wednesday of this week. :-)
Lunchroom Reminder:
Breakfast costs $1.75 this school year, lunch is $3.20, and a carton of milk is $0.60. This is different from last year when these items were free. Please make sure to have a conversation with your first grader if you prefer them not to order these things at school.
Toys at School:
Please refrain from sending toys to school with your child. If they have any for an after school program, please remind them to keep them in their backpacks for the entirety of the school day. Thank you!
