First Grade News (September 23)

   Hello families!

We had another great week in first grade! We wrapped up the week with a special visit from Mrs, Huettl and our first library checkout day!

Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions:

  • Can you count these dots SUPER FAST? (Skill: Subitizing)

Reading:
  • Can you read the following sight words?
    • in
    • is
    • you
    • that
    • it
  • What name-learning song did you sing for Shared Reading? (Hint: there's an elephant involved)
  • Do you know why we named you _______ ? (We read the book, Alma and How She Got Her Name)

Writing:
  • What is something you can do all by yourself? Can you show me your writing on Seesaw?

Social Studies
  • What is a wrinkled heart? How can you make it better?

Star of the Week:
Last week, I modeled what a Star Student presentation would look like and explained some of the fun things your child will be able to do during his/her Star Student week. When your child is an upcoming Star Student, you will find a letter and poster in your child's Friday Folder along with a message via email or Talking Points! Look below for more information:

Important Papers:
If you still have your emergency information forms or field trip permission slip from meet and greet, please sign them and return so we can have them on file.
