Weekly Update: November 13, 2025

Take a peek at our week:

Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions!

Reading:

  • What happened in the beginning, middle, and end of An Extraordinary Egg? What was funny about the book?

  • Can you read this story with beginning blends (bl, cl)?

Vocabulary:

  • What do you remember about these words?

Math:

Writing: The students listened to and discussed the text All About Turkeys. We brainstormed the gist (what it is mostly about) and the important ideas and details. Then, we wrote a summary of the text together--topic sentence, important ideas and details and an ending sentence.

  • What did you learn about turkeys this week?

Social Studies Update:

  • The students listened to and discussed the Scholastic News “Who Invented Maple Syrup?” where they learned about inventions from Indigenous people.
  • (*If our schedule allows today): Our Amazeworks book for the week was Stella Brings the Family. Students learned that families can look different.
  • Finally, Mrs. K came and taught a Kindness lesson.
