Take a peek at our week:
Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions!
Reading:
- Can you read this book to me? (Review from last week)
- What did you VISUALIZE, or picture in your mind, as we read The Snowy Day and "Listen"?
- Can you read and spell these Super Words?
- most
- many
- any
- want
Vocabulary:
- What do you remember about these vocabulary words?
Math:
- What are the names of these 3D shapes?
Writing:
- This week the students listened to and discussed the story Snowflake Bentley. As a class they worked to organize their ideas to respond to the prompt: Describe what Snowflake Bentley learned about snowflakes. Together as a class, the students wrote a paragraph with a topic sentence, 3 pieces of information and an ending sentence.
Social Studies Update:
Our Studies Weekly Magazine focused on the human characteristics of a place. Then, we created a city which contained these human characteristics: houses, roads and bridges, buildings and recreation areas. Each student created at least one human characteristic to add to our city. Our Amazeworks book for the week was Night Job.
