Good afternoon, First Grade Families!
I had so much fun getting to see so many of you at conferences last Thursday. I am looking forward to connecting with the rest of you TOMORROW! :-)
A Peek at the Week...
In Math we have been working on addition strategies with dominoes and making equations to match.
In Reading we read Matthew and Tilly and focused on problems and solutions in a story. We also read the poem Make New Friends where students practiced choral reading and rebuilding the poem with sentence strips.
In Science we started our unit on Rocks and Minerals!
Read-a-thon:
Read-a-thon packets were sent home in red folders on Friday. Also in case you missed, it here are the book fair shopping times:
Friday, 10/15 8a- 2p and 4p-6p
Saturday 10/16 - 9a-12p (Join us for a Somerset Playdate/Book Fair shop)
Tuesday, 10/19 3p-8p (During Conferences)
Wednesday, 10/20 8a-2p
