The Countdown is ON! (Week of May 15-19)

Last Week:

Ask your child about these things at school:

Math:
  • What is 1/3 of 15 pennies?
  • What is half of 12 pennies?

Writing:
  • Can you show me your poem on Seesaw? 
  • What is a rebus poem?
Reading:
  • How was the reading MAP test? (Computer test?)
Science:
  • How many days does it take for a chick to hatch?
  • What happens when a chick is ready to hatch?

  • I can show what I know in math. (Assessment week!)

Writing:
  • I can share my poetry.

  • I can read my play part with accuracy and fluency!

  • I can OBSERVE a chick! (It's HATCH WEEK!)

Things to Know:

MAP TESTING: MAP stands for Academic Measures of Progress, which is a computer-based assessment that we use to measure growth from the beginning to end of the school year. Your child will be taking the Math MAP on Wednesday from 9-11:00 am. Please make sure he/she comes to school well rested, fed, and ready to rock and roll! Woo!

SAVE THE DATE! Our end of year celebration will be on Monday, June 5th at 1:00 p.m. We would love to have you come and see our performance of "Anansi the Spider!"

SNACK SHOP: Thank you for your generous donations!!! :-)

FIELD DAY: Field day is this Friday! Please make sure your child is dressed for outdoor activities!

CAMP FIRST GRADE: Take a look at the info below! Thank you for those reaching out about donations. We are still looking for paper plates and popsicles for those willing to contribute to the fun. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
