First Grade Update: Week of February 7th

Conferences:

This is a friendly reminder that conferences are on Tuesday and Thursday! If you have not already, please sign up for 1 conference slot per child. We will be holding all conferences virtually this time. You will get a google meet link with your confirmation email after you sign up. On the day of the conference simply click the link "join with google meet"

Kindness Day is Coming!

Kindness Day will be held on Monday, February 14. For those new to Somerset, instead of a traditional Valentine's Day, we celebrate with Kindness Day and service learning opportunities for all of our students. Students at Somerset do not bring or exchange Valentines on this day. Instead, we focus on kindness on a larger scale and giving back to our community.

This year we are partnering with Garlough Elementary! They will be completing Kindness Day Stations at their site as well and one of our stations is creating Kindness Bookmarks to give to Garlough students!

This year, our benefactors for Kindness Day will be as follows:

• Ronald McDonald House of the Upper Midwest (creating breakfast packs)
• Brighter Days Family Grief Center (decorating comfort stones)
• Autism Society of Minnesota (making chewable jewelry)
• The Family Partnership (making Play-Doh)
• Garlough Elementary (making Kindness Bookmarks)
