SOCIAL STUDIES:

This week, we will be learning about landforms. Watch the video below (created by 2nd graders!) and name four different kinds of landforms that you notice:

GRAMMAR:

Tell someone at home if these verbs happened in the past (already happened), present (happening now), or future (hasn't happened yet):

1. I baked cookies yesterday.

2. Susie is skating really fast!

3. Tomorrow I will shovel the snow.
READING:

Read for at least 20 minutes and answer these questions. Tell your answers to someone at home:
  • If it is a narrative (fiction) book:
    • What is the theme of the book you chose? (acceptance, friendship, honesty, responsibility. perseverance, courage...)
    • Why do you think that? Give at least one reason.
  • If it is an informational book (non-fiction):
    • What is this book mostly about? (Main idea)
    • What details are important to the main idea of the text?
MATH:

Practice subtraction with these online games:

Way to go, 2nd graders!

I can't wait to see you back at Somerset! Until then, STAY WARM! :-)
