Take a peek at our week:
Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions!
Reading:
- Can you tell me about The Busy Little Squirrel? What about your class version of the book?
- How is the book Spookly the Square Pumpkin like the movie? How is it different?
- Can you read these short vowel words?
Math:
- How can you use what you know about place value to compare these numbers using < , > , and = ?
Social Studies Update: Students learned more about Indigenous People’s Day on the morning announcements and during Specialists. The students collected leaves and used them to create leaf creatures inspired by the story The Leaf Man! They also followed the steps of a directed drawing to create a pumpkin which they painted with watercolors.

Our Read-A-Thon is a fantastic way to support our school while encouraging a love of reading in our students. Our theme this year is How to Train Your Dragon. To set up profiles for your child or children, please visit: https://tinyurl.com/3u4m4y63
Here's a sneak peek at what's in store:
Prizes, Prizes, and More Prizes! Students who participate are entered to win weekly prizes, and the more they read, the more they can win! We'll have prizes for individual achievements, and even bigger prizes for top-reading classrooms and grade levels, including awesome class and grade level parties!
Family Reading Night! Join us on Thursday, October 30 at 5:30 pm for Family Reading Night! The minutes your child reads that night will count toward the school's Read-A-Thon totals. There will be Story Trails in the woods and stories around the bonfire. Hot dogs and apple cider will be available. You are welcome to wear a costume and bring your family for some reading fun. Ready to lend a hand or donate supplies for the event? Sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/msmnrxwv
Let's make this our most successful Read-a-Thon yet!
Kindness Update from Ms. K:
Easy Math Game to Reinforce "Sum = 10" facts:
Penny Plate is super fun! Using 10 pennies, your child will guess how many are hiding under the plate. (Example: 8 pennies are on top of the plate, so there must be 2 underneath, because 8 + 2 = 10)
Give it a try with your child at home:
