Day One was FUN *and* First Day Pictures!

Hello, Second Grade Families!

I hope you have had a fantastic day. I just want to give you a quick update on our very first day of second grade together! Please read below for a brief rundown of day 1 and what to look forward to on our second day!

Some things we learned:
-We learned each others' names
-We learned two new games!
-We learned arrival and dismissal routines and procedures
-We learned how to properly use and store a pencil and box of crayons
-We learned 3 class signals

Some things we did together:
-We went to music and P.E.
-We read two stories together

-We learned all about our “Star of the Week,” Mrs. Brignac J
-We explored the boundaries of our outdoor play area

-We met many new friends!

**Pop Quiz** Today we discussed what it means to be a good listener. What does a great listener do with his/her:

·      Eyes?

·      Ears?

·      Brain?

·      Hands?

·      Feet?

·      Bottom? (Even that helps us listen!)

If your child needs reminders, check out the poster that we made after reading, “No, David!” We helped David learn how to be an awesome listener:

I had such a great time today getting to know each and every second grader in our class! We have a fabulous group, and I cannot wait for us to learn, grow, and have fun together!

Coming up tomorrow:

*We have P.E. and music again tomorrow! Please remember to send a pair of tennis shoes with your child. If you would like, your child can leave his or her gym shoes at school during the year. 

*We will get our 2nd grade song books!

*We will begin Math and Reading!
