Scholastic News Articles:

In your child's Take Home folder, you will find the latest issue of Scholastic News. Re-reading articles is a great way to rack up those Read-a-Thon minutes! Here are some ways for your child to make the most of them:
  • Click on this link to get to the Scholastic News website.
  • Under the "Subscribe" button, click on "log in as a student"
  • Use our classroom password: brig
  • Find the issue you're reading and explore the "read to me" function, watch videos, play accompanying games, and more!
Read-A-Thon:

Keep on helping your first grader track their minutes read at home - there are a few days left in the Read-a-Thon!

Winter Weather is Coming!

Halloween at Somerset:

At Somerset, we have two requests when it comes to the Halloween holiday at the end of the month.

1) All Somerset students will have the opportunity to wear their costumes to the Family Reading Night on Tuesday, October 29 at 6:00 pm. We would love to see your costumes there. However, on Thursday, October 31, we ask that you please leave your costumes at home and not bring costumes to school.

2) Please keep all candy and treats at home. In conjunction with our district wellness initiatives and a large amount of students with food allergies, we ask that candy not be brought for distribution at school. We will not be passing out individual food items to classes. Thank you!
