Things to Know:
Book Character Parade:
Every year we look forward to this Somerset tradition! Kids can dress as a character from their favorite book. It can be as easy as dressing in all one color to be a crayon from The Day the Crayons Quit as an example. Some other fun ideas are: a character from Curious George, Little House on the Prairie, Fancy Nancy, Pete the Cat, Elephant and Piggy, etc. Have fun!! Students can wear or bring a simple book character costume to school, and the accompanying book. Let me know if you need to borrow a book from our school or classroom library!
More Examples:
Wear all pink and you become Pinkalicious.
Cut fake glasses out of paper and wear your backpack and your Jack from the Magic Tree House.
Draw on some whiskers and you are a cat from a variety of story books
Parents, if you would like to come and watch the book character parade, you may join us. The parade will begin at 1:00. We will start checking parents in at the office around 12:45.
Music announcement:
At Somerset, concerts for grades 1-4 are on a biennial rotation: spring concerts one year, winter concerts the next. This year there are spring concerts for grades 1-4, no winter concerts. Kindergarten has a spring concert only.
