Things to Know:

BOOK CHARACTER PARADE: Every year we look forward to this Somerset tradition! Kids can dress as a character from their favorite book.  It can be as easy as dressing in all one color to be a crayon from The Day the Crayons Quit as an example.  Some other fun ideas are: a character from Curious George, Little House on the Prairie, Fancy Nancy, Pete the Cat, Elephant and Piggy, etc.  Have fun!! Students can wear or bring a simple book character costume to school, and the accompanying book.  Let me know if you need to borrow a book from our school or classroom library!

MYSTERY READER: We are in need of Mystery Readers for the remainder of the school year! If you haven't had a chance yet, we'd love to have you or another loved one join us and read a book! Please click on this link to sign up. :-)

PAPER TOWEL ROLLS: We are beginning to learn more about place value in numbers greater than 100. It sounds strange, but we are in need of empty paper towel rolls for a project to help us do just that! If we can gather enough for every student, we will be making number scrolls. Students will add a paper to their scroll for every hundred numbers that they write. We will all celebrate when students can get to 1,000!
