PROJECT FAIR: The project fair is coming! This extra-curricular event is open to all Somerset Stars. Please see the message below from our Somerset PTA:
Hello Somerset Stars!
The Project Fair and Family Engineering Night is just a few weeks away- we hope you can join us on Thursday, Jan. 30th from 6PM-8PM. Please mark your calendar for this fun event, brought to you by the Somerset PTA.
We are excited to partner with the Science Museum of Minnesota for the Family Engineering Night portion of the event. There will be a quick assembly-type presentation at 6:30, followed by multiple hands-on STEM stations to explore!
The Project Planning Guidance went out in the Friday folders just before the Holiday Break! Students should have a good idea of their projects by the end of this week, and should be moving into the next phase- Learning about their topic and gathering materials needed to create their project.
We are looking forward to benefiting several local organizations including: Washburn Center for Children, Southview Acres Health Care Center, Neighborhood House, and My Very Own Bed.
In order for this event to be a success we need donations of items for the stations, as well as volunteers to help run stations the day of the event. Please click on the link below to help us out!
Celebrating student friendships, practicing empathy and building a stronger school community are all goals we can work toward with these activities which are also supported by our whole school Somerset STAR Behavior practices. Thank you for your continued support as we work toward these important goals.
We ask that you do not send any Valentine cards or candy to school with your child. We will accept any unaddressed valentines for donations to Neighbors, Inc., which serves families in northern Dakota County.
We are very excited about the opportunities for our students and trust that it will be a fun and meaningful day of celebrating our wonderful Somerset Star Students!
MYSTERY READERS: We have had SO much fun with our Mystery Readers this year! There are still PLENTY of slots open, so spread the word! We love to have parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins...all of our classroom family's special friends for a visit! Please click THIS LINK to sign up!
