I hope you had a wonderful week with family and friends. I know that I enjoyed having a little time to catch up with family and recharge before the last (super busy) quarter of school! Here are some photos from a trip my husband and I went on this past week. We traveled down south to Louisiana to catch up with my husband's side of the family. It was a week of fun, family, and LOTS of southern food!
Here I am getting a lesson on peeling shrimp at Mr. B's restaurant our first night in New Orleans. After getting past the eyes and antennae, it was SO good!
Here is the view from our Uncle's home in Baton Rouge. Even though it was chilly, we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the scenery!
We were fortunate to have the opportunity to cruise the area lakes and canals in a brand new boat! It was so fun to see the landscapes and nearby wildlife.
Of course, the afternoon would not be complete without learning how to make some Brignac gumbo!
Did I mention we did a lot of eating?! I had many new experiences: peeling shrimp, crawfish (below), and even trying oysters (although I did not take a picture of that mess)! :-) Here I am with some of the Brignac ladies trying my first crawfish:
I couldn't travel to New Orleans without trying a po-boy- so good!
On one of our last days, we toured through the many nooks and crannies in New Orleans. It was so amazing to take in the rich culture of the city. Art, music, and beautiful architecture are everywhere to be found. Here are some photos of the unique above-ground St. Louis Cemetery:
Here we are at Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans. So many talented artists, street performers, and musicians were everywhere!
Even though we were sad our vacation came to an end, that all ended pretty fast when we were reunited with our Murray man!
If you have any photos or stories from your spring break, please send them over! We'd love to see and hear about it!
Looking forward to a FANTASTIC fourth quarter with you all!
Take care,
Mrs. B :-)
