COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER:
Next week, we will start our countdown to summer. Each day we have a special activity planned for our first graders that will be revealed on a paper chain countdown each morning during calendar time. It's a fun way to wrap up such a fabulous year!
CHICK INCUBATION:
Today is Day 17 in our chick's 21 day incubation cycle! We are anxiously waiting for our chicks to hatch next week! This week, the chicks began to develop their eyelids, started turning their heads towards the large end of the egg for air and began to draw in their guts toward their abdomens. Feathers also started to cover their bodies and finally, they began to tuck their heads between their legs! There is so much happening on the inside--hard to believe!
