Weekly Update: April 11, 2025

   Peek at the Week:

Want to hear about our week? Ask your child the following questions:

Math:
  • What can you tell me about your new Number Corner calendar?
  • What are the names of these shapes?

  •
Reading:

  • What did you learn about elephants as they grow and change?
  •

  • Can you read the following sight words?
    • man
    • good
    • name
    • think
    • sentence
  • What sounds do ou and ow make in these words?
  •
    .

  • What do you remember about these vocabulary words?

Writing:  The students started a unit on Opinion Writing. The students learned what an opinion is compared to a fact. They brainstormed their favorite foods and then they wrote a paragraph about their favorite food and their reasons why they love this food.  They ended their paragraph with a closing sentence.

Social Studies: Our Studies Weekly magazine focused on “Communication Over Time” where they learned how communication has changed from long ago to today. Our Amazeworks book was Marvelous Maravilloso-Me and My Beautiful Family. This story is about a girl from a bicultural family and how she appreciates the differences around her--especially the ones that make her family unique and beautiful.

We ended the week with an April Art Project -- raindrops and an umbrella!:)
